History

At the end of the 19th Century, many Chinese, who had completed the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway, came to Vancouver, British Columbia to settle down.

However, when they became ill, they could not enter the local hospitals. Fortunately, a Catholic Archbishop set up an Oriental Home on the City's East Side in 1922.

The Canadian Chinese will not forget their humanity and compassion.
